Here comes the fourth frontier that makes America invisible (i.e., news). The other three are divided into three powers: judicial, executive and legislative.
China at this stage belongs to the frontier period.
The rise of the Missouri News Gang
By 1928, journalists from the prestigious University of Missouri in Columbia were working in the Far East, more than half of them in China. Among the more famous of these are Thomas F.F.Millard, J.B.Powell, John R.Morris of the Ap, Morris Harris, J.C.Babb, James D.Kline, United Press International, Hernry Misselwitz of the New York Times, Vitor Keen in the New York Pioneer Tribune, Carl Crow in the Miller Review, and later Maurice Votaw and Edgar Snow, along with Agnes Smedley and Emily Hahn, all from Missouri but not from a private background. Beginning in 1900, these people streamed from the American Midwest to China, creating a magnificent spectacle. J.m. Hamilton of Northwestern University described them as the "Missouri Monopoly"; Mordechai Rozanski of McDonell University derided them as the "Missouri Mafia".
On the other hand, a large number of important journalists, educators, officials, politicians and academicians in China during the Republic of China were mostly from the University of Missouri at Columbia. Such as the guangzhou times lead Huang Xianzhao, hollington tong, deputy secretary of the communist party's propaganda department in charge of foreign news kuomintang President Ma Xingye central daily, "the declaration" journalist, professor of fudan university Wang Yingbin, Reuters reporter Zhao Minheng, kuomintang officials James shen, a famous newspaper Wu Jiatang, news educator Jiang Yinen, Xie Ran Liang Shichun, etc, obviously, China also has a "Missouri news help".
